Toray Innovates a Better Employee Performance Support System

There isn’t much margin for error when training employees to operate complex machinery safely – and all while maintaining high product quality standards with minimal production downtime.

At Toray Composite Materials America, Inc. (CMA), a leading global supplier of advanced composites for aerospace applications, factory technicians needed the training and support to increase proficiency in new systems and processes, and solve complex problems with fewer errors.

AllenComm worked closely with CMA to develop a learning ecosystem for the facility. Four components—Work Instructions (WINs), Web-Based Training, Instructor-Led Training, and video tutorials—serve as the bedrock of this ecosystem. The modules are designed to be visually engaging, concise and interactive, simulate potential workplace problems, and evaluate learner development.

These components were integrated with Siteline technology to produce an advanced performance support environment that would yield considerable improvements in on-site employee performance. The Siteline app delivers a content library with training material, 3d modeling, user dashboards, scanning components, and skill checks and evaluations. The training materials contained in the library consist of Work Instructions, Web-based Training, Instructor-led Training, and video tutorials.
