SALT LAKE CITY (October 6, 2009) — Last week, Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Magazine awarded Allen Communication Learning Services (Allen) a bronze for the learning portal implementation for F.A. Davis. MediaTec Publishing Inc., publisher of Chief Learning Officer, presented Allen with the Provider Learning in Practice Award for Excellence in LMS at the CLO Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Award winners will be featured in a special supplement in the December issue of Chief Learning Officer magazine.
The Excellence in learning technology LMS Award is given to providers who have rolled out a robust learning management system for a client in the past year. Earlier this year, AllenComm partnered with marketing services firm, FulcrumTech, LLC, to develop a customized learning portal for F.A. Davis, a publisher of healthcare professional references and textbooks. F.A. Davis needed a learning management solution that integrated seamlessly with their customer-facing website and that provided an e-commerce backed library of online continuing education (CE) courses for physical therapists.
The implementation of the Allen Learning Portal helped F.A. Davis offer courses, track requirements and scores and provide online training to their members via F.A. Davis’ website. The learning portal integrated seamlessly with the website so users could move effortlessly in and out of the learning portal to other components of the site.
“The Learning In Practice awards were established to recognize transformational and visionary leaders in enterprise education,” said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of Chief Learning Officer magazine. “A record number of top learning executives and solution providers were nominated by their peers this year. The winners are the industry leaders who truly champion innovation and transform it into learning and value for their organizations.”
“We are honored to be recognized by CLO for the collaborative nature of the portal and its ability to be client facing,” says Ron Zamir, CEO of Allen Communication Learning Services. “Clients appreciate how simply the Learning Portal embeds into their existing technologies and sites.”
This is the second year CLO has offered awards to vendors and the second year AllenComm has won a Learning Solutions Provider award. The Provider Awards “are designed to distinguish service providers that worked closely with clients to design and implement innovative and effective learning solutions” (www.clomedia.com).
