IsraAID, a global humanitarian organization founded in Israel, seeks to support local communities around the world to provide urgent aid, assist recovery, and reduce the risk of future disasters. They needed a sharable resource that would help alleviate the stress that global communities are feeling as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in general provide a tool to reduce stress and anxiety after disasters.
The AllenComm Solution
IsraAID partnered with AllenComm to quickly create a web-based resource that is sharable and easy to complete. The resource combines more than two decades of humanitarian and mental health wisdom in techniques to relieve stress. Seven micro-modules cover such topics as the importance of keeping in touch with others; how to reduce stress by identifying feelings, behaviors, and thoughts; ways to relax, take in less information, and create structure. There’s also a short instructional video on a simple breathing exercise.
