Allen Communication Receives Multiple Awards for Designs in Corporate Training Courses

International award recognizes innovative video and media produced by Allen for clients in the mental health, banking and direct sales industries

SALT LAKE CITY (May 17, 2011) — Allen Communication Learning Services, industry leader in corporate training, is pleased to be the recipient of four Horizon Interactive Awards. The awards were given for excellence in blending creativity and functionality in video and interactive media in training courses designed for: The Center for Practice Innovations (CPI) at the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene (RFMH), the New York State Offices of Mental Health (OMH); The Risk Management Association (RMA); and Amway.

The ninth annual Horizon Awards saw over 1000 entries from 22 countries around the world and nearly all 50 United States. An international panel of judges, consisting of industry professionals with diverse backgrounds, as well as an end user panel, evaluated 37 different categories ranging from online advertising to mobile applications.

“Our clients have high expectations that their new training initiatives will be compelling, impactful and produce positive results for their mission critical directives,” said Ron Zamir, CEO of Allen Communication. “Winning these awards is indicative that these courses are not just meeting, but exceeding those expectations. However, the real winners are the people who are reaping the benefits of sound training.”

A silver and a bronze award was given for the Assertive Community Treatment program courses for CPI, RFMH and OMH. This interactive program makes extensive use of video to train mental health professionals and volunteers to help those with severe mental illness to manage their symptoms and take care of their basic needs. The interactive tools shortened the learning curve and vastly improved speed to competency.

A bronze award was given for a training module designed for RMA’s new commercial real estate lending course. RMA helps banking and nonbanking institutions identify and manage the impacts of credit risk, operational risk, and market risk on their businesses and customers. This module is part of a series of 14 courses that utilize web-based simulations to teach best practices to financial services professionals.

A bronze award was also given for a product knowledge course developed for Amway’s Atmosphere Air Purifier. This WBT course, developed for Amway representatives in China, utilizes a combination of interactive games and activities that helped bridge cultural barriers and improve technical knowledge and sales proficiency for the product.
