Toyota was looking to supplement an existing on-the-job-development (OJD) curriculum with complex simulations. The existing curriculum focused on strengthening management principles. Toyota’s challenge was creating a complementary simulation-based course for executives that integrated well with the existing management training.
To help Toyota executives respond to the wide variety of situations they encounter on a regular basis, Allen designed and produced a course with multidimensional branching storylines and realistic conversations and interactions. The course also included a way to track OJD competency scores. Learners were given opportunities to react to several scenarios, and see the effect their responses had on their team members and on the business.
The Allen custom solution incorporated a blended learning solution from a variety of modalities including:
