O.C. Tanner helps the world inspire and appreciate great work through innovative cloud-based software, tools, awards, and education used by thousands of clients globally. To help companies understand the importance and impact of employee recognition, O.C. Tanner built an instructor-led course for managers. However their global client base was not fully covered by classroom training. To make the recognition training more accessible, O.C. Tanner needed to design a complementary web-based training. It also needed to appeal to clients purchasing the training, as well as managers who would take the training.
To supplement the existing instructor-led training, O.C. Tanner created engaging web training with microlearning modules and a badging system to reward progression. Through a performance mapping process, they identified the key knowledge to communicate so learners understood the impact of employee appreciation. Testing feedback led to further customization of badging based on learner preference.
