Technical Support Engineer


Allen Communication is seeking a qualified individual to fill an immediate opening in a product support/implementation role. The Technical Support Engineer will provide front-line customer service related to Web-based applications for key clients. This position will also be responsible for implementation, trouble-shooting and maintenance of the associated installations and servers. It is expected over time that this position will also become involved in training, sales support, consulting and possibly some design/development aspects of the Web-based product line.

 
Duties may include but are not limited to:


  > Interface with end-user clients via phone and email support
  > Work with the internal development staff to resolve support issues
  > Become familiar with our Web-based products (databases, configuration, etc.)
  > Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of dedicated hosted servers
  > Eventually assist with sales related activities (product demos, proposals, etc.)
  > Assist with minor customizations and enhancements to products

General requirements

  > Good verbal and written communication skills
  > Strong problem solving skills
  > Ability to manage multiple competing tasks
  > Knowledge of Web-based Training Applications (Learning Management Systems)
  > Some familiarity with one or more of the following is a plus:
       - Prior experience in a software support position
       - Windows 2003 Server Platform
       - Microsoft .Net Technologies
       - Microsoft SQL Server
       - Web Administration for IIS (FTP, SMTP)
       - Software Development Technologies (HTML, ASP, C#, XML, SQL)
