Instructional Design Internships
Desired Education
We prefer individuals who are working toward an advanced degree in a relevant field, such as Instructional Technology or Design, Interactive Media, Communications, Technical Writing, or Education. All candidates should have a bachelor’s degree.
Activities
You will work with a project team under the guidance of other instructional designers and project managers to write concise, grammatically correct scripts for on-screen presentation, using Dreamweaver templates. (This is not a programming position; however simple html coding skills are a big plus.)
You will also perform instructional design support activities, such as audio production and processing, quality control, and other tasks to facilitate production or translation of courses.
Tools
Working knowledge of Dreamweaver and Flash is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of MS Office applications.
Detailed descriptions of previous project work should be included in your cover letter.
Along with your cover letter, please provide a sample of your writing, preferably a sample related to interactive media or instructional design.
If you are selected for consideration based on your resume, cover letter, and writing sample, you will also be required to complete a short instructional design assignment that will give us a sense of your approach to instructional design.
Duration and Rates: Please note that, as this is a paid internship program, the duration of the internship will vary depending on project length. The hourly rate will be $15 per hour.
