Instructional Design Contract Positions
Skills
- Analyze complex technical content and write concise, grammatically correct scripts for onscreen and multimedia presentation.
- Write scripts directly into Dreamweaver and other development tools. (This is not a
programming position; however simple html coding skills are a big plus.)
- Communicate professionally with subject matter experts.
- Work well in a team environment with project managers, design leads, multimedia programmers, and graphic artists.
Education
- We strongly prefer individuals who have completed or are working toward an MS or MA in a relevant field, such as
Instructional Technology or Design, Interactive Media, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, and Education.
Tools
- Working knowledge of Dreamweaver and Flash is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications.
Work Samples
- Detailed descriptions of previous project work should be included in your cover letter.
- Along with your cover letter, please provide a sample of your writing, preferably a sample related to interactive media or instructional design.
- If you are selected for consideration, you will also be required to complete a short
instructional design assignment that will give us a sense of your approach to instructional
Contractor Rates and Scope of Work
Contractors are paid $20 - $30 per hour based on experience and are typically engaged for the length of a project. A Statement of Work describes the scope and length of work for each project.
