Aerospace Manufacturer

How do you engage a diverse audience of 250,000 executives, management, and employees nationwide on your new business philosophy? This was the question one aerospace manufacturer had when they decided to switch over to Network Centric Operations (NCO). The client needed to build a common understanding of NCO strategy, language, & process for every person. They came to Allen for a high level curriculum design that would meet their business objectives. Allen’s blended learning solution, based on the discoveries made during the needs assessment, included 27 hours of ILT, six hours of WBT, and three hours of simulation. The sections were divided into four tiered tracks based on seniority within the company. Each tier had relevant case studies, action plans, and simulations that focused on the role NCO played within that department. While Allen is currently developing the last tier, the overall results have been positive.

Global Financial Services Company

Training new hires and retaining them is an issue for almost every company. But when you are training approximately six thousand per year as this financial client was, it becomes mission critical. They had an old WBT course that discussed philosophy and business rules, but it wasn’t engaging and didn’t cover their new teller system. After a needs assessment with Allen, Allen discovered a need for real mentors—ones with experience as well as ones who hadonly been employed a few months--to connect with the learners. Allen designed four to five days of WBT divided into multiple sessions that would go along with the ILTs. These modules included tutorials, system demonstrations and practice, goal based scenarios, and assessments. By delivering the right assessment and WBT, this blended solution saved the financial client $1.16 million annually for every 1 percentage point reduction in Teller turnover. The overall turnover in the first 90 days of employment dropped 3.6 percent after this course was implemented.

Worldwide Retail Merchant

With a recession looming, this retail client wanted to ensure their merchants applied best practices in forecasting. They had an existing 10 year old WBT course that looked outdated and didn’t seem to interest their learners. Allen analyzed their content, interviewed SMEs, and spoke to stakeholders to determine the best methods. A blended WBT & ILT and Captivate conversion was the solution. Allen created a redesigned, interactive, and engaging 30-minute WBT module taken by all the client's merchants who worked at corporate office locations. The WBT module was used to prepare learners for the new 90-minute classroom ILT session. The retail client loved the look of the WBT—saying Allen had the best graphic art work of any vendor and appreciated the flexibility of the Allen project team on timeline and scope issues.

Mid-tier Pharmaceutical Manufacturer

Where do you begin when you need to grow your entire training department? This client looked to Allen since Allen had been in the training business for almost thrity years and were willing to work with the client to mentor their processes. Allen started with a needs assessment to see what areas needed improvement and what could be revamped. Together, Allen and this client worked to hire and train a new training staff, upgrade their systems, and create rooms for training. While Allen created the first five compliance courses to begin their resource library, they trained the new trainers on FastFlex so the new team could populate their own courses with content and media. Allen then mentored them through ILT, WBT, and project portal processes.
