Amway and Allen Garner Excellence in Practice Citation at ASTD 2010 Conference

SALT LAKE CITY (May 25, 2010) — On May 17th, the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) presented Amway Global and Allen Communication Learning Services the Excellence in Practice Citation in the workplace learning and development category for their basic sales training courseware.

The Awards Ceremony and Reception was held in the McCormick Place and welcomed attendees from more than 70 countries. The dinner and awards were in honor of organizations who achieved excellent results through learning and performance solutions. ASTD presented this award to Amway and Allen for having strong evaluation plans, meeting a demonstrated need, and having appropriate design values.

Amway Global and Allen created instructor-led training and web-based training that was based on a set of courses to build basic selling skills and just-in-time product knowledge for new independent business owners (IBOs).

“Winning a citation with Amway Global was a very proud moment for us,” states Ron Zamir, CEO of Allen Communication Learning Services. “We stood alongside large companies like Farmers Insurance, Hewlett Packard, and Intel and represented a sales curriculum that delivered amazing results.”

“It was a thrill to receive this recognition from ASTD because this organization adheres to the most rigorous standards for evaluating submissions from organizations throughout the world,” says Char Griffin, Manager of Instructional Design for Amway Global. “To have our training recognized in this way validates all the effort and determination that Amway Global and Allen put into creating world class training for the Independent Business Owners.”
