Allen Communication offers a suite of performance improvement solutions designed to support client needs for business transformation. Our solutions include upfront analysis and development of web-based training, instructor-led training, performance support, mobile solutions, etc., for a select (Fortune 500) clientele. Currently we are looking for a System Administrator to work directly with our internal team to deliver technically sound training solutions. This full-time, salaried position will work from our Salt Lake City office (no telecommuting).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs design, implementation, administration of hardware and software systems may include, but are not limited to:
    • Windows Servers (2012, 2008, 2003), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Exchange, SQL, WSUS, TrendMicro, File and Print services, IIS/apache, certificate authority
    • Desktops and Laptops – Windows (10, 8.x, 7), Apple (OS-X, iOS)
    • Network/Security Systems – Firewall/VPN/content filter, switches, wireless access points, load balancer
    • Backup/recovery systems
    • VMware vSphere
    • VOIP
    • ISCSI Storage
    • PowerShell, Monitoring systems, Ticketing systems
  • Documents systems and processes
  • Detects, diagnoses, reports, and resolves problems with listed systems
  • Maintains user accounts
  • Resolves user requests in timely manner
  • Trains users and cross-trains IT staff individually and in groups as needed
  • Assists with desktop support

Minimum Qualifications:

4-6 years of progressively responsible related work in desktop and server systems or equivalent, AND at least 3 years of Windows server administration experience in a medium to large enterprise, or equivalent.

  • Ability to utilize a high degree of creativity, analytical thinking and initiative
  • Strong oral and written English language skills, including experience creating written documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated customer relations skills
  • Ability to work independently while following documented processes and procedures
  • Ability to create new systems, processes, procedures and document them
  • Ability to collaborate with other support personnel to create and document new processes and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional experience with the following:

  • Familiarity of working with HP and Dell hardware
  • Experience working with Windows and Linux servers
  • Technologies listed in “Responsibilities” section above
